There was a lot of drama in last night’s Ravens-Jets game, but the biggest source of controversy came on the New York Jets sideline. Quarterback Sam Darnold was seen getting into it with head coach Adam Gase in a video that has since gone viral.
But on Friday the Jets head coach downplayed the notion that there was any bad blood brewing between him and his signal caller. He explained in his media appearance that the two were actually upset at someone else, not each other.
Gase explained that he was pointing out someone did not do their job on a failed 4th-and-1 passing play, and that he was the one who brought the complaint up to Darnold.
“Somebody didn’t do their job and I was bitching about that. And he was doing the same thing.”

As for the still-shots of backup quarterback David Fales looking like he had seen a ghost, Darnold had a reply to that.
The Jets starter jokingly pointed out Fales “always has that weird look on his face.”

So it now looks like all is well at One Jets Drive.
Except for the fact that they’re 5-9 and widely considered one of the most dysfunctional franchises in sports.
But at least the quarterback and head coach are on the same page.
