Will the finish to the 2020 NFL season be the final time we see Sam Darnold in a New York Jets uniform?

Many within the NFL expect Darnold to be traded if the team lands the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. New York is widely expected to select Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 overall.

ESPN host Mike Greenberg, a big-time Jets fan, wants Darnold to be traded.

"This franchise has done everything imaginable to ruin his career. The best thing that could happen to him will be getting the hell out," he tweeted.

If the Jets make a move with Darnold, he should have plenty of suitors.

From SNY's Ralph Vacchiano:

“Nobody thinks he’s a lost cause, if that’s what you’re asking,” said one NFL executive, per SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano. “If they decide to trade him, they’ll find plenty of takers. Getting a franchise quarterback with experience, where you’re not starting from scratch, still on his rookie deal? There’s a ton of value in that.”

It should be a very interesting offseason in New York.

The Jets could be making several big changes outside of the quarterback position, with Adam Gase likely out, too.
