The New York Jets were delivered brutal news today as Sam Darnold could miss multiple weeks with mono. Well, the hits keep coming for their offense because Le’Veon Bell might also be inactive for Week 2.
Bell shined in his debut with the Jets, totaling 92 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. His versatility was on full display against the Bills.
Next up for New York is a must-win matchup with the Cleveland Browns. It could be tough for Adam Gase’s squad to win that game since they could be without its most important offensive players.
According to SNY insider Ralph Vacchiano, the Jets could also be without Bell against the Browns.
Bell is apparently dealing with a “sore shoulder.”
The Jets are monitoring his injury and aren’t sure if he’ll be available for Monday night. In the event that he’s unable to go, the backfield will be anchored by Ty Montgomery and Bilal Powell.
Also, more bad news for the Jets …
RB Le’Veon Bell has a “sore shoulder”, Adam Gase said, and will not practice today. The Jets are monitoring that too. It’s not clear yet if that will impact his availability for Monday night.

Injuries continue to pile up for the Jets as C.J. Mosley and Quinnen Williams are also battling health issues.
The road gets only tougher for New York as it faces New England in Week 3 of the season.
All the hype surrounding the Jets in the offseason has quickly disappeared due to the latest sequence of events.
