The New York Jets have made plenty of free-agent signings this offseason, and they're not done yet. On Saturday, the team announced the signing of All-Pro kicker Greg Zuerlein.

Zuerlein, a former sixth-round pick, spent the past two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. During that two-year stretch, he made 63 of his 76 field goal attempts.

Although an argument can be made that Zuerlein's best days are behind him, he should be an immediate upgrade for the Jets at kicker.

This past season, Matt Amendola made just 13 of his 19 field goal attempts. Eddy Pineiro, meanwhile, made all eight of his attempts.

Pineiro recently received a tender of $2.43 million from the Jets, so perhaps they will have a kicking competition in training camp.

The terms of Zuerlein's deal are unknown at this time.

If "Greg the Leg" can get back to making 50-yard field goals at a consistent rate, he should be able to win the starting job in New York. However, it's important to note that he only made 40 percent of his attempts from that distance in 2021.
