Terrelle Pryor's free agency is reportedly coming to a close. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport says that he is nearing a deal with the New York Jets.

According to the report, the deal could close as soon as tonight. Via Twitter:

Pryor has had a very unique NFL career, after starring at quarterback at Ohio State. He attempted to play the position, with brief tenures on the Raiders, Seahawks, Chiefs, and Bengals.

He then went to the Cleveland Browns, where his major career shift took place. In 2015, he made the move to wide receiver, appearing in three games and recording one catch for 42 yards.

2016 was the break-out season for Pryor, the receiver. He caught 77 passes for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns, a rare bright spot for the beleaguered Browns.

After that big year, Pryor bet on himself. It didn't quite work out.

He signed a one-year deal with Washington, but played in just nine games, catching 20 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown. He opted for surgery on an injured ankle in November and was placed on injured reserve.

As of Wednesday, Pryor was reportedly down to the Jets and the Seahawks. It looks like he will go with the former, rather than rejoin one of the teams that he once attempted to play quarterback for.

Terrelle Pryor's a terrific athlete, and is still learning the nuances of the positions. For a rebuilding Jets franchise, he could definitely be worth the risk on a team-friendly deal.
