FOX Analyst Getting Ripped For His Taysom Hill Comparison

The debate over how good of an NFL quarterback Taysom Hill could actually be reached insane levels this week when former NFL linebacker Brady Poppinga favorably compared Hill to reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson.

An eight-year NFL vet turned FOX analyst, Poppinga referred to Jackson as "a poor man's Taysom Hill." Keep in mind Hill is 6-for-13 passing in his three-year NFL career and will already be 30 years old in August.

"Lamar Jackson is the poor-man’s Taysom Hill. It’s not the other way around. That’s what we have in Taysom. That’s why the Saints aren’t messing around. He eventually will be taken care of," Poppinga said.

Okay, sure we get why the Saints wanted to keep Hill. He's a valuable asset to their team as someone who can run it, catch it and occasionally throw it. He also plays special teams too.

But to say he's on the same level as Jackson is absurd. Poppinga's take was not well-received by other media members.

As a 22-year-old second-year pro, Lamar Jackson produced over 4,300 yards of total offense and 43 total touchdowns. While he has room for growth, he's well-ahead of Hill.

Comparisons like this don't do either player any favors.
