The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best throwers of this generation with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. But even the reigning NFL MVP may have seen his jaw hit the ground after what Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did today.
In the fourth quarter, with Baltimore trailing 30-19, Jackson escaped a pass rusher in the pocket before running to the right side of the field. Despite heavy pressure, he threw the ball across his body into double-coverage.
But while it looked like a Chiefs defender had picked it off, it was actually reeled in by Ravens wideout Willie Snead. Baltimore would follow up that big play with a field goal as Justin Tucker was good from 39 yards.
Take a look:
The Chiefs led in this game by as many as 17 points but found stopping the Ravens to be very tough in the fourth quarter.
Jackson finished the game with over 267 passing yards and a rushing touchdown.
But it was running back Mark Ingram who served as the workhorse back. Ingram finished the game with 103 rushing yards and three touchdowns, along with another 32 receiving yards.
Despite the strong play of Jackson and Ingram, it was not enough as the Chiefs held on to win, 33-28.
Is Lamar Jackson already the best quarterback from the 2018 draft?
