This Sunday afternoon, the Baltimore Ravens will try and slow down Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense. Only one team has proven successful in such a quest this season.
Both the Ravens and Chargers are coming off the heels of thrilling wins. Baltimore pulled off a miraculous comeback overtime win over Indianapolis on Monday night. Los Angeles used a late fourth-quarter touchdown to get past Cleveland.
Fast forward to Sunday, the two AFC juggernauts will go toe-to-toe in Baltimore. It’s no secret the Ravens will have to slow down Herbert to win the game.
Baltimore defensive coordinator Wink Martindale spoke at length about Herbert on Thursday morning. In doing so, he delivered a pretty memorable one-liner. We still don’t know what he meant, but we think it has to do with Herbert’s arm strength.
“He’s one of those guys that could throw a strawberry through a battleship,” Martindale said.

We think that’s a good thing.
Justin Herbert has garnered the attention of the rest of the NFL this season. He’s made opposing defenses look like JV squads.
The second-year quarterback out of Oregon has completed 67.1 percent of his throws for 1,576 yards and 13 touchdowns with three picks in five games. Oh, and did we mention he’s an athlete? He has an additional score on the ground.
The Ravens will have their hands full trying to defend Herbert and the Chargers passing attack. Baltimore hosts Los Angeles this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
