The 0-5 Cincinnati Bengals are spiraling through a lost season on the road to a top-five pick in next spring’s NFL Draft. If they choose to trade A.J. Green, now would be the time to do it.
Green is 31 years old and has not played this season due to an ankle injury. He’s also missed time with various ailments over the last few seasons as well.
Considering Green is a free agent this winter–and it would seem illogical for the Bengals to retain him–it makes sense for Cincinnati to explore a potential trade. They have a little less than three weeks to do so.
For now though, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is insistent that Green won’t be dealt.

Of course, Taylor likely could just be playing the company line here. Or maybe he’s hoping Green won’t be traded, and will instead play for the Bengals this season.
As a first-year head coach, Taylor likely feels some pressure to win. The leash in the NFL is short for head coaches, though the Bengals have shown loyalty to their team leaders in the past.
For now, Green remains part of Cincinnati’s team. The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, October 29.
