On Thursday night, the Carolina Panthers lost a home contest to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to open the second week of the NFL season.
While the Panthers reflect on their second straight home loss to open the season, the rest of the NFL is gearing up for their respective contests.
One team received positive news before their game this weekend. The Cincinnati Bengals lost a close game to the Seattle Seahawks on the road last weekend.
In the loss, star running back Joe Mixon suffered an ankle injury and was ruled out for the rest of the game.
The former Oklahoma star missed practice earlier this week, but was back at practice on Friday morning.
According to Jay Morrison of the Athletic, Mixon participated in the team’s walk-through today.

The Bengals have a solid backup plan if Mixon is forced to miss time with the injury.
Cincinnati shelled out a significant contract extension to Giovanni Bernard before the start of the 2019 season. In games without Mixon, Bernard proved to be a capable fill-in, giving the Bengals flexibility moving forward.
Cincinnati faces off against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon.
Stay tuned for the latest on Mixon’s health leading up to the game.
