This season has been pretty disastrous for the Cincinnati Bengals, but help could be on the way for one of the two remaining winless teams in the NFL.

Although the Bengals appear to be in rebuilding mode, the offense may receive a major boost in the coming weeks. Following this weekend's game against the Los Angeles Rams, it's very possible that veteran wideout A.J. Green returns to the team.

Green has been out of action since training camp due to an ankle injury. In his absence, the Bengals have relied on Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate and John Ross III.

Despite all the trade rumors surrounding Green, the front office in Cincinnati has no intentions of trading the face of the franchise.

In fact, the coaching staff cannot wait to have Green back on the field.

On Friday, head coach Zac Taylor hinted at the team having Green after its bye week. Cincinnati has next week off because it's traveling to London for this weekend's showdown with Los Angeles.

The return of Green should help quarterback Andy Dalton for the second half of the season. However, it's unfair to expect him to suddenly turn the team into a contender.

Green is in the final year of his contract in Cincinnati. Expect him to perform well down the stretch as he tries to secure one more lucrative deal.
