Most of the NFL world assumes the Cleveland Browns will either trade or release Baker Mayfield at some point this offseason, and understandably so. The front office acquired his replacement in Deshaun Watson.

This week, an NFC personnel executive spoke to FanSided's Matt Lombardo about Mayfield's future.

Though no one knows where Mayfield will end up next, this anonymous executive believes Mayfield will have success at his next stop.

"I’m a fan of him,” an NFL executive told Lombardo. “I think he’s going to be a good player. Wherever he ends up, I think Baker has the chance to be the Comeback Player of The Year. Two years ago, he went to Pittsburgh and won a playoff game, almost beat Kansas City in Kansas City in the Divisional round, and that was just two years ago. Guys don’t just get bad.”

As for what's next, this executive believes the Seattle Seahawks present the best option for Mayfield.

“There’s no doubt that Baker Mayfield is Seattle’s best option,” the executive added. “He’s only 26 years old. Is he a headstrong guy? Is he a prideful guy? Absolutely, bigger than life, and that’s alright. Pete Carroll can corral that in. That’s what he’s good at."

Mayfield has proven in the past that he's at his best when he's counted out. Perhaps we'll see him revitalize his NFL career elsewhere.
