If the recent rumors are to be believed, Browns star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. wants out of Cleveland at the earliest opportunity.
He’s had an unproductive season in Cleveland despite being mostly healthy and having a young quarterback tossing him the ball.
So what did Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield have to say on the latest rumors? Not a whole lot, actually.
When prompted by the media on Wednesday, Mayfield said he heard the rumors that were floating around but couldn’t answer on Beckham’s behalf.
However, Mayfield said that he’s spoken with Beckham and says that he trusts the star wideout “wholeheartedly.”
“I can’t answer that for him. I mean there’s all the rumors going around, but I have my conversations with him and I know what we talk about so I trust him wholeheartedly.”

The Browns gave up a king’s ransom to the New York Giants this past offseason to land Beckham. He ultimately cost them several high draft picks and two key players in a move that was expected to lift the Browns offense into elite NFL company.
Instead, Beckham has posted career-lows in multiple categories. Meanwhile, the Browns offense has been in the bottom half of the league.
If this truly is Beckham’s only season in Cleveland, it may go down as one of the worst deals in NFL history.
