Vontaze Burfict was not suspended by Roger Goodell and the NFL, and DeAngelo Williams is not happy about that.
Goodell and the league elected to fine Burfict after some questionable behavior from the Cincinnati Bengals linebacker in last week's loss to the Patriots. Williams called out the commish for the punishment, which he feels conflicts Goodell's words about caring about player safety.
Burfict, of course, has a history of borderline or outright dirty play, and Williams and his Steelers teammates know this firsthand. That probably played a major role in him challenging Goodell here.
Also, the NFL fined Williams last year after it nixed his plans to wear pink accessories in honor of his late mother, who had breast cancer.
It will be interesting to see if the NFL responds to Williams' public criticism.
