You never want to see a first-round pick get hurt in the preseason. Cleveland Browns fans may be holding their breathe right now.
Rookie cornerback Denzel Ward, the second of Cleveland’s first-round picks this year, was shaken up making a tackle in the first quarter of tonight’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He stayed on the ground for several moments.
Ward did get up and walk off field under his own power, but he headed into the blue medical tent for further evaluation.
It looked like Ward might have tweaked something in his lower back.
