The biggest question facing the New England Patriots this offseason is the future of quarterback Tom Brady. He’s a free agent for the first time in his career and is reportedly expected to take visits to other NFL teams when the new league year kicks in.
Brady’s biggest gripe, according to reports, is the lack of offensive weapons at his disposal. Well, one NFL analyst took that into account with his latest mock draft.
CBS football analyst Will Brinson released his latest mock draft that features a blockbuster trade involving the Patriots. Brinson’s idea revolves around the Cleveland Browns shipping star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Patriots for a first-round pick.
From the report:
Maybe Kevin Stefanski can fix everything, but my gut says the Browns would love to cut their losses by landing a first-round pick in this draft, and the Patriots have to be worried about simply finding a first-round impact guy or finding help for Brady in free agency. There simply isn’t much out there.
The trade gives Brady and elite weapon in the passing game, something he lacked last season without star tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Cleveland lands the Patriots’ No. 24 pick in the first round of this year’s draft as a result of the trade.
With the pick, Brinson has the Browns selecting former Alabama star wide receiver Henry Ruggs III to replace Beckham.
