All the frustration from last weekend's loss has carried over into Week 9 for the Cleveland Browns. On Wednesday, Baker Mayfield left his media session after arguing with a reporter over their question.
The Browns were considered a playoff-caliber team heading into this season. Instead, the team has stumbled to a 2-5 record through the first half of the year.
While analysts around the league continue to bash Mayfield for his off-field antics, Odell Beckham Jr. has come to the defense of his quarterback.
Beckham told the media that he'll always defend his teammate. He also said the public should spread out the blame rather than place it all on Mayfield.
"I’m going to be the first one here to defend him every single time," Beckham said. "I’ve always got his back."
Those are encouraging words from Beckham, who's trying to right the ship for the Browns.
It hasn't been a great season for Beckham, either. However, it's nice to see that he's staying upbeat.
Cleveland has struggled mightily the past two months, but the upcoming schedule is quite favorable. If Mayfield can rediscover his form from his rookie campaign, the team could make a run in the second half of the season.
