Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns had their doors blown off by the San Francisco 49ers last night. After the game though, much of the conversation centered around Mayfield’s pre-game handshake.
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman claimed afterwards that Mayfield refused to shake his hand at midfield before the game, calling the alleged snub “disrespectful to the game.”
“What’s amazing, and annoying, was him not shaking hands at the beginning,” Sherman said, via NFL.com. “That’s some college s—. It’s ridiculous. We’re all trying to get psyched up, but shaking hands with your opponent — that’s NFL etiquette. And when you pull bush league stuff, that’s disrespectful to the game. And believe me, that’s gonna get us fired up.”
Well, now we have some apparent footage of the meeting between the Browns and 49ers captains. It comes via the 49ers’ official Instagram story.
I found this on the 49ers official Instagram account from their Instagram story last night – don’t see anything disrespectful from Baker here but this is a short clip. pic.twitter.com/8ZvHi4gPFC

Watching that clip, it is tough to see exactly what happened. It looks like Sherman could have actually snubbed Mayfield, but we can’t tell because the view of the two is obstructed.
We also don’t know what was being said as they passed each other. Is Sherman lying, or did Baker really shun him in a display of poor sporstmanship?
We’ll let you make your own determinations from the video.
