In a clip that is starting to go viral this afternoon, Smith-Schuster can be seen participating in the popular TikTok “Milk Crate Challenge.” If you’re unfamiliar, it involves a person trying to traverse a pyramid of stacked milk crates, and can be quite dangerous.
Anyway, it’s not really the sort of thing you want to see one of your biggest offensive weapons taking part in–especially less than two weeks before the season opener.

Now heading into his fifth season, Smith-Schuster has drawn criticism in the past for, among other things, dancing on opponents’ logos and motivating the Browns by making dismissive comments about them prior to a playoff game.
Overall, those things are relatively harmless though in the grand scheme of things. However, this type of viral stunt could have been damaging, if it had gone wrong.
Smith-Schuster signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Steelers this offseason, saying he took less money to remain with the team that drafted him in the second round back in 2017.
“I was pretty close [to signing] with the Chiefs,” Smith-Schuster told The Spun back in May. “The biggest thing was, you know, one thing that I wanted from the Steelers – and it’s not money. It’s just more, I would say the respect. But at the end of the day it’s all business. You just have to see it like that – whether you’re fan or not – you have to honor and respect what’s best for him. And for me, I took less money to stay.”
