On Sunday night, the New England Patriots hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers in what many believed could be a potential playoff game in a few months.
However, if Sunday night is any indication, the Steelers might not even make the playoffs.
New England absolutely dominated from the opening whistle and took a 20-0 lead into the half. The Patriots have never lost when leading by 20 at the half, so the Steelers chances for a comeback are pretty slim.
They’re even more slim when you don’t optimize your chances in the redzone.
Trailing 20-0 in the third quarter, the Steelers decided to kick a field goal from within the Patriots five-yard line rather than going for it.
Let’s just say fans watching at home weren’t happy with the move.
Here’s just a snippet of the reaction.

The Patriots then scored on the very next possession, extending the lead to 27-3 with just over eight minutes to go in the third quarter.
It looks like fans had every right to be upset with Tomlin. The Steelers need every point they can get and kicking a field goal from within the opponents’ five yard line isn’t going to cut it.
We’ll have to see if the Steelers can launch a comeback.
