Ask NFL head coaches what they look for most at the quarterback position and you're bound to get a few different answers. Mike Tomlin provided his today.

During today's pre-draft press conference, Tomlin was asked if he has figured out the most important trait for a quarterback to have. The longtime head coach said he hasn't, before adding that he "doesn't know that anyone has.”

But when pressed further, Tomlin did provide a couple of things that he wants in a quarterback, including being an "ultimate competitor."

“I think that is the ultimate competitor’s position,” Tomlin said. “So those that run to and not from competition, those that embrace competition and the intensity of it, and the anxiety maybe associated with it — I think they have a leg up. Obviously, there’s some pedigree-related things per the position: arm strength, accuracy, and so forth. But that’s evident — it’s either present or it’s not. The intangible quality associated with competition, I think, is something that’s valuable.”

Tomlin and the Steelers did have a supreme competitor in Ben Roethlisberger leading their team for a long time, but he's now retired and the team could be looking to add at the position in this week's draft.

Reportedly, the QB prospect Tomlin is most enamored with is Liberty's Malik Willis, but Pittsburgh would have to trade up from the 20th overall selection to have a shot at drafting him.

At least one report says the Steelers are a "sure bet" to take a quarterback in the first round, and the franchise has been doing its due diligence on all the top passers in this class. We'll see if they pull the trigger on any come Thursday night.
