As the NFL owners weigh whether to adjust their postseason overtime rules to prevent the kind of controversy we had at the end of the Bills-Chiefs game, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is weighing in. As always, he has a strong stance on the situation.

Tomlin was asked to give his take on the overtime proposals being discussed by the NFL owners. The Super Bowl XLIII champion made it clear that he isn't afraid of any "sudden death" proposals that might pass.

“I don’t fear sudden death," Tomlin said.

NFL fans found the bluntness of Tomlin's statement incredibly funny. Many are taking to Twitter to point out that in a different context, his statement could have a very different meaning:

"The most metal quote from the NFL Owners Meetings so far," Jaime Eisner of The Draft Network tweeted.

"I do but we may not be talking about the same thing," wrote FanGirl Sports' Tracy Sandler.

"Mike Tomlin is the most Metal head coach in the NFL, apparently," one fan wrote.

"Nihilistic football is my love language," wrote another.

Tomlin is giving off those fearless football vibes in response to the possibility of adjusted overtime rules. That said, some people are calling him out for being too conservative under the current overtime football model.

If and when new overtime rules are introduced, he'll have to adapt one way or another.
