Pittsburgh sits at 0-3 on the year, but isn't ready to give up on the season just yet.
The Steelers traded for star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick earlier this season and are now making a play to bolster their offense.
The Seattle Seahawks and Steelers are reportedly finalizing a deal that sends tight end Nick Vannett to Pittsburgh.
Here's the news from Schefter.
Vannett has played in all three games for the Seahawks this season. In each of the three games, he recorded a reception for a grand total of four catches for 38 yards on the year.
The trade comes in the wake of an injury to Steelers tight end Vance McDonald.
McDonald suffered a shoulder injury during the team's game against the San Francisco 49ers. The oft-injured tight end was spotted at practice on Tuesday afternoon with his arm in a sling.
With Pittsburgh going out to acquire a tight end through a trade, it suggests McDonald's injury could cost him significant time.
The Steelers also signed tight end Alize Mack to their practice squad on Tuesday afternoon.
Vannett is a former third-round pick out of Ohio State. He is in his fourth season in the league.
Pittsburgh hosts the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.
