On Friday, the Steelers listed Claypool as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Less than 24 hours later, the team issued an update on the talented wide receiver.
Pittsburgh has officially downgraded Claypool to out for tomorrow’s game. Obviously, this is a huge blow to a Steelers offense that is already struggling to develop its own identity.
Last week, Claypool had nine receptions for 96 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals. It’ll be tough to replace that type of production, especially if tomorrow’s game against the Packers turns into a shootout.

On the bright side, the Steelers will have Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster for Sunday’s game. Smith-Schuster left last week’s game due to a rib injury, whereas Johnson was inactive because of a knee injury.
Pittsburgh will need Smith-Schuster and Johnson to play extremely well on Sunday in order to keep up with Green Bay. Additionally, the Steelers will need rookie tailback Najee Harris to continue playing at a high level. He had 14 receptions in Week 3.
The Steelers are hoping to avoid a 1-3 start to the 2021 season. Kickoff for the Packers-Steelers game is at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
