A lisfranc injury, for those unfamiliar, occurs when metatarsal bones are displaced from the tarsus. It's a mid-foot injury.
Golson played collegiately at Ole Miss and was a second-round pick by the Steelers in 2015. He missed his rookie season with a shoulder injury.
Pittsburgh opens its 2016 season Sept. 12 against the Redskins on ESPN's Monday Night Football.
