Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Donte Moncrief, who had a nightmare first two weeks of the season, apparently won't get to redeem himself in Week 3.

Moncrief will be inactive for today's game against the San Francisco 49ers, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Steelers apparently will look to feature of the team's younger wideouts in quarterback Mason Rudolph's first career start.

Moncrief has just three receptions for seven yards on 11 targets this season. He's dropped several passes, drawing the ire of Steelers fans.

“It’s sickening when you watch it and you know the plays you were supposed to make and you didn’t make them," Moncrief said after his poor Week 1 showing. "You see them and you’re like, ‘Gosh, I’ve got to make that.’ … I went home and went straight to sleep. It hurt me so I had to put that away. It’s a new week. It’s time to go.”

With Moncrief not playing, look for James Washington have a bigger role in Pittsburgh's passing attack. He and Rudolph were college teammates at Oklahoma State.

Ryan Switzer and Dionate Johnson are some of the other guys who may see more opportunities this week as well.

Pittsburgh and San Francisco will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
