Adam Schefter: This NFL Sunday Could Be 'Most Explosive Yet' After Bob McNair Controversy

After Bob McNair's "inmates running the prison" quote about NFL protests came out this morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter thinks the protests this Sunday will be kicked up a notch.

McNair's quote from a meeting of NFL owners and executives was published by ESPN The Magazine this morning, and has quickly enveloped the sports world.

While he has apologized for his phrasing, the players on his team, the Houston Texans, considered a walk-out today. Superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins left the facility and missed practice after the comments. McNair has also drawn ire from players in the NBA, including Draymond Green.

If the protests were beginning to slow down, McNair's comments probably reignited them in a huge way. The Texans travel to Seattle this week to face the Seahawks, probably the most outspoken team in the NFL. Star cornerback Richard Sherman has already blasted McNair on Twitter.

There will almost certainly be large scale demonstrations ahead of the Texans-Seahawks game, and the rest of the NFL will likely follow suit. ESPN's Adam Schefter believes it will be the "most explosive" NFL Sunday yet, thanks to McNair's comments.

It will be another early Sunday as well, with the Vikings and Browns facing off in England. That game begins at 9:30 a.m. ET.
