The Houston Texans lead the New Orleans Saints late in the first half at the Superdome, but their star quarterback has taken a beating. Deshaun Watson has been hit…a lot.
Watson went to the sideline medical tent after absorbing a hard hit while scoring his team’s first touchdown on a scramble. He returned to the field for the next series.
However, Watson took several other big hits throughout the first half. He threw a touchdown to DeAndre Hopkins, but had to go back in the medical tent late in the second quarter.
According to ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters, Watson’s having some trouble with his back.
Deshaun Watson is BACK in the medical tent.
Lisa Salters says "it appears his back is bothering him."

The Texans can ill afford to lose their multi-talented passer. Hopefully whatever issue Watson is dealing with is minor and he’ll be able to return.
However, one has to be concerned with how much of a beating he’s taken through these first two quarters. Watson is tough and unafraid to get hit in or outside the pocket, and that can hurt him at times.
We’ll keep you posted on any further updates on Watson.
