The apparent lack of direction in the Houston Texans franchise has turned a new spotlight onto star QB Deshaun Watson. Having lost his best receiver in a lopsided trade with the Arizona Cardinals, there's increasing speculation the former No. 12 overall pick could be on his way out, too.
Now it looks as though Watson is adding some fuel to the fire as far as his status in Houston is concerned. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Watson made a few cryptic tweets that people are trying to parse.
Watson told his 1.3 million followers, "Don't deal with the lies and the frauds. That's why I don't get involved... Wassup...?" He followed that up almost 20 minutes later by adding, "never take advice from a person who don't love you. You gotta walk light, gotta stay above water."
Naturally, people have been trying to interpret the meaning behind Watson's words ever since they appeared on their timelines.
Perhaps the most common theme in the comments and retweets is the idea that Watson should or will go to the New England Patriots. Sports books recently listed the two-time Pro Bowler as one of the favorites to eventually replace Tom Brady.
But whether Watson does manage to maneuver his way to Bill Belichick's team or not, it's clear that things aren't going well for Houston right now.
Is Watson trying to tell us that he wants out?
