Melvin Gordon will have a new quarterback handing him the ball next season. But the Chargers running back is still thinking about his former teammate – Philip Rivers.
After months of speculation, Rivers and the Chargers mutually agreed to part ways, ending a long partnership between the two sides. It’s going to be strange seeing Rivers in a new uniform next season.
There are plenty of teams in the league seeking a veteran QB like Rivers. There’s no doubt he’ll be a huge pickup for the team that lands him. As of now, it appears the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts are the front-runners in Rivers’ free-agency.
Gordon believes one team is the perfect fit for Rivers – the Colts. Seeing as the Chargers RB knows the veteran QB better than most, this is without a doubt something to pay attention to. Check out Gordon’s thoughts on Rivers’ free-agency in the video below:
“I think he’s going to the Colts…I think that’s probably the best fit.”

The Colts’ current QB situation is a bit shaky. Jacoby Brissett is talented, but is he a long-term, franchise quarterback?
Rivers will have an immediate impact for the team he plays for next season. The veteran passer tossed 23 touchdowns and threw for 4,615 yards last year.
