Every year draft scouts find themselves wondering how they missed on a certain prospect. This year it appears Gardner Minshew is the rookie that slipped through the cracks during the 2019 NFL Draft process.
Minshew has done an incredible job filling in for Nick Foles, who suffered a broken collarbone during Week 1 of the season. Some may argue that he deserves to be the starter for the rest of the year.
Last Sunday, Minshew led the Jaguars to a win over the Jets by throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns. It's possible that he actually wins Offensive Rookie of the Year.
While the entire sports world continues to be in awe of Minshew, Jaguars owner Shahid Khan isn't too surprised that his rookie quarterback is thriving in the NFL.
Khan told reporters that Minshew caught his eye during the NFL Combine.
Minshew made it very clear that his height doesn't affect his ability to win games.
It's a pretty strong message from Minshew, who put together an amazing season at Washington State in 2018.
Despite throwing for 4,779 yards and 38 touchdowns in his senior campaign, he wasn't taken until the sixth round of the draft.
With Foles almost back to 100 percent, the Jaguars will soon have a tough decision to make at quarterback. Luckily for Minshew, he can strengthen his argument with a statement win over the Houston Texans this Sunday.
