On Thursday night, the Jacksonville Jaguars hosted the Tennessee Titans in a matchup of division rivals.

Jacksonville jumped out to an early 14-0 lead thanks to two touchdown passes from rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew.

However, over the final quarter and a half of play in the first half, the officials dominated the action with terrible penalty calls.

One in particular drew the ire of fans from around the country. The Titans were flagged for roughing the passer on what looked like a clean hit on Minshew.

The official NFL officiating Twitter account explained the flag.

In the Tennessee-Jacksonville game, there was helmet contact to Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew’s chin, therefore roughing the passer was called.”

Video of the play shows the officials are wrong. There was no contact to Minshew's helmet and thus the penalty should not have been called.

Jacksonville failed to score on the possession, so there was no harm done to Tennessee. However, the fans watching from home have made their distaste for tonight's game loud and clear.

Through just one half of play, officials called 15 penalties. Meanwhile the teams have combined for just 14 points through two quarters of action.

Stay tuned for the latest from the game.
