The Jacksonville Jaguars lost starting quarterback Nick Foles to a broken clavicle in the first game of the season. It was a heartbreaking turn of events for Foles who finally found himself as a starter in the NFL once again.
In the wake of his injury, rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew has stepped up.
The former Washington State quarterback immediately became a fan-favorite and showed he has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
Minshew completed over 77-percent of his passes in the first two games and is on fire tonight against the Tennessee Titans.
Jacksonville opened the game with two passing touchdowns from Minshew in the first quarter to open a 14-0 lead.
That led to a very happy Mr. Minshew in the stands. Gardner's father, Flint, watched his son lead the Jaguars to an impressive first-quarter lead.
Oh by the way, Mr. Minshew is a large man.
We won't be messing with the Minshew family any time soon.
Minshew is 7-of-8 passing for 85 yards and two touchdowns through one quarter of play.
Jacksonville leads Tennessee 14-0 early in the second quarter. Can Minshew lead the Jaguars to a win over the favored Titans?
Stay tuned for the latest from the game.
