Report: Jacksonville Hiring Doug Marrone As Head Coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars have settled on a new head coach, according to an ESPN report.

Interim coach Doug Marrone has been hired to a full-time role, per Adam Schefter. Marrone coached the Jags to a 1-1 record after taking over for a fired Gus Bradley in December.

He previously led the Buffalo Bills to a 15-17 record in 2013-14.

Under Bradley, the 52-year-old Marrone was the assistant head coach and offensive line coach. He was also an NFL assistant with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints from 2002-08.

From 2009-2012, he served as the head coach at his alma mater, Syracuse. Marrone compiled a 25-25 mark with the Orange, including a a pair of bowl wins.

The Jaguars are the first NFL team to fill a head coaching vacancy in 2017.
