Long before Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there was speculation that he might go to the Tennessee Titans instead. But today the Titans made it very clear what their position on Brady was.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Titans GM Jon Robinson was asked if his office ever tried to contact Brady. Robinson’s reply came in just four words: “No. We signed (Ryan) Tannehill.”
The Titans re-signed Ryan Tannehill on March 17 to a four-year, $118 million with $62 million guaranteed. Brady reportedly didn’t even contact the Buccaneers for the first time until that same day. He ultimately signed with Tampa Bay on March 20.
But while Robinson and the Titans may have felt confident that they had their man all along, the speculation was certainly justified.

The Titans boast a dominant running game and a defense that put Brady and NFL MVP Lamar Jackson on ice in the playoffs.
On paper, those two items combined with the presence of Brady’s former teammate and longtime friend Mike Vrabel as head coach made the Titans an ideal place for Brady to go.
We’ll find out over the next year or two if the Titans made the right decision or not.
Should the Titans have reached out to Brady before re-signing Tannehill?
