Brown’s absence yesterday set off some alarm bells just a few days before Tennessee’s season opener. The 2020 Pro Bowler had procedures done on both knees this offseason, and the Titans have made it a point to give him plenty of rest this summer.
It doesn’t look like we have to worry about Brown missing Week 1 though. The third-year pro was able to get some work in today, according to reporters on the scene in Tennessee.

It seems like Brown’s situation is just a case of load management. Tennessee will gladly take him missing the occasional practice as a tradeoff for being healthy enough to play on Sundays. He did it sometimes in 2020 as well.
Brown has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to begin his NFL career. The former Ole Miss star caught 70 passes for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 games last year.
Tennessee will open up the 2021 season against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
