Free agency is still a few days away, but the rumors surrounding Chandler Jones are starting to heat up.
According to NFL insider Benjamin Allbright of KOA 850 AM, the Denver Broncos are expected to make Jones their "No. 1 target" in free agency.
"It’s an actually likely Broncos free agent signing," Allbright said, via Zac Stevens of DNVR Broncos.
This is the second day in a row that Allbright has mentioned Denver as a potential landing spot for Jones.
On Friday afternoon, Allbright tweeted: "I think the Broncos are...Jonesing... for an edge rusher next week."
Allbright pointed out that Jones played at Syracuse when Nathaniel Hackett was on the staff. Now, Hackett is the head coach of the Broncos.
Additionally, Jones reportedly has a strong personal relationship with Russell Wilson.
This past season, Jones had 41 tackles, 26 quarterback hits and 10.5 sacks en route to another Pro Bowl appearance. Overall, he has 107.5 sacks and 195 quarterback hits for his career.
If the Broncos can land Jones in free agency, that would certainly boost their pass rush.
