Former Denver Broncos legend Mark Schlereth trashed general manager John Elway during his time on Speak For Yourself on Tuesday afternoon.
Schlereth made it clear he's not happy with the moves Elway have made during his time as GM.
The former offensive lineman pointed out Elway's blind loyalty to struggling offensive tackle Garett Bolles. Schlereth thinks Bolles doesn't have what it takes to start in the NFL and is only receiving playing time because Elway refuses to be wrong about his former first-round pick.
When asked if he thinks Elway can fix the team, Schlereth made it clear he doesn't trust his former teammate.
"Do I trust him to fix what's gone wrong? No! This football team lacks depth, they lack talent, they lack grit, they lack toughness. They haven't had an offensive line that's worth a squirt of urine in 5 years," Schlereth said.
Schlereth and Elway won two Super Bowls together in Denver, so it's surprising to see such a strong take against the current Broncos general manager.
However, Schlereth isn't wrong with his comments. Bolles has struggled to live up to his draft status and Elway hasn't been able to find a quarterback not named Peyton Manning.
The Broncos are set to roll out Brandon Allen at quarter this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
