By hook or by crook, the Kansas City Chiefs made it out of Gillette Stadium against the New England Patriots with a win. But there were several moments where it looks like star quarterback Patrick Mahomes might be hurt.
Fortunately, it doesn’t look like he suffered any serious injuries in yesterday’s win.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Mahomes got X-rays on his throwing hand after the game. The X-rays reportedly came back negative.
However, Rapoport also noted that Mahomes’ condition will be “something to monitor” moving forward.

Mahomes went 26-of-40 for 283 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ 23-16 win over the Patriots.
The Chiefs are currently riding a three-game winning streak despite Mahomes playing very average football these past few weeks. Mahomes has three touchdowns and two interceptions in those three wins.
If anything, it’s been the defense that has saved Mahomes’ during a number of their recent wins.
It seems pretty clear at this point that Mahomes is not going to repeat as NFL MVP. But they’ll still need him 100-percent healthy for the playoffs now that they’ve clinched their division.
