Everyone in Kansas City held their breath on Sunday night when Patrick Mahomes limped off the field with an ankle injury. It was the second time this season that he suffered a lower-leg injury.
Losing to the Colts at home didn’t sit well with the Chiefs, but the main concern was if Mahomes would be OK.
Mahomes has shown this season that last year’s production wasn’t a fluke by any means. In five games he has thrown for 1,831 yards, 11 touchdowns and no interceptions.
The injury for Mahomes occurred when offensive lineman Andrew Wylie inadvertently stepped on his ankle.
When Kansas City takes the field for practice this afternoon, the reigning MVP will use that time to test out his mobility.
During his time talking to the media on Wednesday, Mahomes said he looks forward to making cuts in practice to see where his ankle is at.

This is a really good sign for Mahomes.
Not only will Mahomes be on the field for practice this afternoon, the Chiefs expect to have Pro Bowl wideout Tyreek Hill as well.
Mahomes should be ready to play this weekend, but it’s still worth monitoring how he moves on his injured ankle.
Kansas City is hosting Houston this weekend in what should be an awesome shootout between Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.
