Of course, that respect doesn’t dampen how competitive each man is. Brady is the GOAT for a reason, and Mahomes is the brightest young star in football. They each have performed at the highest level and want to continue doing so.
Mahomes showed his ambition this afternoon. It all started when Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez wore a Tom Brady jersey during batting practice before Monday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
Perez’s wardrobe choice was the result of losing a Super Bowl bet to former Royals and current Rays outfielder Brett Phillips.
A bet is a bet.

Despite the Brady jersey, the Royals posted a video of Perez saying Mahomes was the best. Of course, he’s not going to diss the hometown guy.
However, Brady responded in his typical Twitter fashion, saying that “actions always speak louder than words.”
Nahhh I think actions always speak louder than words 😉 https://t.co/OkilMGgwN5

Enter Mahomes, who implied that we’ll be able to tell in 20 years who was better, him or Brady.
I guess we will see in 20 years… 🤷🏽♂️😎 https://t.co/CnndcM9ihj

Now, let’s get this out of the way. Are there things Patrick Mahomes can do physically that Tom Brady can only dream of doing? Absolutely.
But physical talent is only part of what goes into being a great quarterback, and right now, Brady is the undisputed GOAT. He’s got seven Super Bowl rings, 10 conference championships and is 2-0 in the postseason against Mahomes.
Pat is going to have to put up serious numbers, statistically and title-wise, in order to be considered “better” than Brady 20 years from now.
