Trailing by nine early in the fourth quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs started a drive at the 25-yard line. On the very first play, Mahomes rolled out to his right under pressure.
Rather than throw the ball away, he heaved the ball downfield, where Tyreek Hill was waiting to grab it. After securing it, Hill outran the Browns defender for a 75-yard touchdown.
It was a spectacular play that had CBS broadcaster Tony Romo giddy. And he wasn’t the only one. The clip of Mahomes’ big play is going viral for obvious reasons:
"A throw that really only a handful of people ever can make and Patrick Mahomes does it." – @tonyromo

Like, what type of special are you to make this throw? Mahomes is a mutant. pic.twitter.com/kK3DU3piXQ

Not everyone was over the moon about the play though. FOX Sports commentator Skip Bayless, who refuses to accept that anyone other than Tom Brady or Dak Prescott can be an elite quarterback, criticized the play for being “lucky.”
Lucky circus throw by Mahomes. Could've been picked. John Johnson got turned around, couldn't find it. Tyreek, touchdown.

Whether that play was lucky or not, the Chiefs got even more lucky a few minutes later as the Browns punter botched a snap, giving them the ball inside the 20.
A few plays later, the Chiefs scored another touchdown to take a 33-29 lead.
The Chiefs still hold that lead with 3:45 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Will Patrick Mahomes lead the Chiefs to victory?
