In just under an hour, the Kansas City Chiefs will take the field for a divisional contest against the Denver Broncos.
Kansas City opened the 2019 season with four-straight wins and looked like a legitimate threat to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. However, after back-to-back losses, the Chiefs look very mortal – as does quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The star quarterback re-injured his ankle two weeks ago and has been hampered by the injury since. His struggles to remain healthy sent the Chiefs on a losing streak.
His girlfriend isn’t worried though. She took to Instagram with a message for Chiefs fans telling them not to panic just yet.
“This team and their kingdom aren’t going anywhere,” she said on Instagram.
The Chiefs are in a tough spot on the road after dropping back-to-back games. Denver provides one of the toughest atmospheres in the NFL – even when the Broncos aren’t playing at their best.
A loss tonight would have the Chiefs sitting at 4-3 on the season with games against the Packers, Vikings and Titans in the next three weeks.
Can Mahomes lead the team to a much-needed win tonight?
Kansas City and Denver are set to kick off at 8:20 p.m. E.T.
