We've already hit that point in the NFL off-season where overreactions are flying in. Joe Burrow's hand size is the latest topic to stir up controversy.
Prospects are checking into the NFL Combine this week. On Monday, official measurements of the combine attendees were taken. As has become a trend over the past few years, quarterback hand size has once again become a talking point.
Burrow's hand size from thumb to pinky came in at nine inches even. That's a bit smaller than most quarterback prospects. Most of the time, hand size simply shouldn't be a concern - and it certainly wasn't during Burrow's record-breaking 2019-20 season. But some draft experts are critiquing the former LSU quarterback's hand size.
Burrow, in true Joe Burrow fashion, had a hilarious, sarcastic response to all those critiquing his hand size, saying he's now "considering retirement." Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes--another small-handed QB--had a hilarious response to Burrow's tweet.
Mahomes has proven quarterbacks don't need huge hands to have success in the NFL. As the reigning Super Bowl MVP we'd say he's doing okay.
Meanwhile. Burrow has proven everything he's needed to to prove he's an elite prospect.
The former LSU QB is going to be just fine.
