Earlier this week, the Miami Dolphins made a bold trade for star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
The Kansas City Chiefs couldn't reach a new deal with their star wideout and that left him open for a potential trade. Before the trade news broke, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the New York Jets and Dolphins were the two finalists.
During his introductory press conference on Thursday, Hill was asked about the possibility of playing for the Jets. He made it clear that his eyes were only on the Dolphins.
"How close was I? Who? The Jets?" Hill questioned. "I knew I was going to pick Miami no matter what because I'm basically from here, I'm here all the time. This is home for me, for us."
According to a report from Mike Garafolo, the Chiefs and Jets had a trade agreement in place before the Dolphins came swooping in. Once that happened, Hill only wanted to play in Miami.
"My understanding is the Jets and Chiefs reached an agreement on Monday. NYJ then went to work on a contract with Hill," Garafolo said. "The Dolphins stepped up at some point and then it was only a matter of time before it would be Miami."
Sorry, Jets fans.
