The Tennessee Titans notched their best win of the season today, knocking off the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs, 35-32. It didn’t come without some controversy, though.
Mike Vrabel’s team secured its win with a field goal block at the end of regulation.
Were the Titans offsides on the kick, though?
It was close:

“Blatant” is wrong, of course. It’s far from obvious that he is clearly offsides.
It looks like he is offsides in plain view, but a closer look says otherwise. Here’s a screenshot of the play as the ball appears to be leaving the long-snappers hands:
It’s close. But from this angle, can you 100 percent tell that he’s across the line of scrimmage while the ball is still in the snapper’s hands?
And, as many within the NFL will tell you, though, this will rarely get called.
Re: KC-TEN blocked field goal, most special teams coaches will tell you that the outside guy will only get the block if the kick is low or he is offsides.

A win is a win now.
The Titans improved to 5-5 with the victory, while the Chiefs dropped to 6-4.
