Earlier Thursday night Denver Broncos hosted the Kansas City Chiefs in a highly-anticipated divisional game.

Kansas City opened the 2019 season with four-straight wins and looked like a legitimate threat to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. However, after back-to-back losses, the Chiefs look very mortal - as does quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The star quarterback re-injured his ankle two weeks ago and has been hampered by the injury since. His struggles to remain healthy sent the Chiefs on a losing streak.

Mahomes got the Chiefs off to a hot start and led the team to a 10-6 lead in the second quarter. As he attempted a QB sneak on the goal line to give Kansas City a 10-point lead, he appeared to suffer a significant injury.

He went down in a pile and appeared to tweak his knee.

The good news for the Chiefs is that Mahomes eventually walked off the field under his own power. He left the field with trainers and walked right into the locker room for further evaluation.

Trainers appeared to check his knee before he left the field.

Backup quarterback Matt Moore came into the game to replace Mahomes for the time being.

Stay tuned for the latest on Mahomes' status.
