Derek Carr is going to remain a Raider for the foreseeable future.

On Wednesday morning, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Carr will be signing a mega-extension with the team. He's going to get $121.5 million over three years and not have to worry about a new contract until 2025.

Carr will make $40.5 million per year, which puts him fifth among the highest-paid quarterbacks. He's also the seventh quarterback of the $40 million club already. He's the longest-tenured in the NFL right now as he's been with the Raiders for eight seasons. He was one of the biggest reasons why they got back to the playoffs in 2021 after he threw for 4,804 yards. He also had a TD/INT ratio of 23/14. The NFL world quickly sent their reactions in after this news dropped.

Carr will look to lead the Raiders through the AFC West this season, which is expected to be a gauntlet.

He'll have to go up against Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Russell Wilson twice a year. It won't be an easy task, but that's why the Raiders are giving him the big bucks.
