There have been several bright spots this season for the Oakland Raiders, but none brighter than rookie tailback Josh Jacobs. Unfortunately though, his status for this weekend seems questionable.
Jacobs is having an incredible start to his career. He currently has 1,061 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
Oakland isn’t mathematically eliminated from playoff contention at the moment, yet the team desperately needs a win to avoid falling below .500 on the season.
While there is still time for Jacobs’ status to change, the first-round pick from Alabama didn’t participate during Wednesday’s practice due to a nagging shoulder injury.

Jacobs has battled through this injury for several weeks. It’s not unusual for the team to give him Wednesday off.
This weekend presents another tough challenge for the Raiders, as they’ll host the red-hot Tennessee Titans.
If the Raiders want to keep their postseason dreams alive, it’s imperative they win this weekend. However, their chances of defeating the Titans will drop significantly if Jacobs isn’t active.
We’ll know more about the severity of Jacobs’ injury as the week goes on. As long as he practices in some capacity this week he should be cleared for action.
