With the recent reports indicating that the Oakland Raiders would be playing in Oakland in 2019, the news is likely to be taken very well by players and fans alike. Free agent running back Marshawn Lynch could be intrigued as well.

According to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo, the Raiders' impending deal to stay in Oakland "increases the chances" that Lynch plays for the team in 2019. Garafolo noted that Lynch had no interest in playing anywhere except the Bay Area in 2019.

Lynch missed all but six games for the Raiders this past season. He is currently slated to be a free agent.

Lynch, an Oakland native, is set to be 33 years old when the 2019 season kicks off in September.

Last year he averaged 4.2 yards per carry and 62.7 yards per game before finishing the year on injured reserve.

Overall, Lynch's production has dipped significantly since his four-straight Pro Bowl seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. However, his numbers in 2018 were better than his final year in Seattle, suggesting that he may have just enough left in the tank to help the Raiders if he can stay healthy.

Unfortunately for Lynch, staying healthy has been a bit of an obstacle the past few years. He missed 10 games this past year and another nine games in 2015 due to various injuries.
